The Southern Oregon Chapter of the ACLU of Oregon will present a "Know Your Rights" workshop at the Ashland library today.

Criminal defense attorneys Kristin Stankiewicz and Kenneth Kreuscher will lead the presentation from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Gresham Room of the library at 410 Siskiyou Blvd. They will discuss how to exercise basic constitutional rights when dealing with police, including when citizens are required to show ID, when an officer can search without a person's consent, and when a person can walk away from police.

The free workshop is open to the public.
