ASHLAND — Paul "P.Z." Myers, a professor of biology from the University of Minnesota at Morris, who is known in scientific circles as a vehement proponent of evolution, will speak at 7 p.m. in the Meese Room, Hannon Library, on the campus of Southern Oregon University in Ashland.

ASHLAND — Paul "P.Z." Myers, a professor of biology from the University of Minnesota at Morris, who is known in scientific circles as a vehement proponent of evolution, will speak at 7 p.m. in the Meese Room, Hannon Library, on the campus of Southern Oregon University in Ashland.

Myers' lecture, "Darwin and Design," will highlight the importance of Darwin's contributions to today's evolutionary sciences and his rejection of intelligent design. Myers appears as the special Charles Darwin Bicentennial presenter in The Jefferson Center's Thomas Jefferson Memorial Lecture Series.

Tickets are $10 per person and will be available at the door or by e-mail at robert@thejeffcenter.org. Students with ID will be admitted free.
