Oregon Tech's Neil Emerson, from Phoenix, has been named the Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week, and shortstop Zach Earle, from North Medford, was selected Player of the Week for the Owls.

Oregon Tech's Neil Emerson, from Phoenix, has been named the Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week, and shortstop Zach Earle, from North Medford, was selected Player of the Week for the Owls.

Oregon Tech set a school record for wins in a season at 29 and clinched the South Division title of the NAIA West.

Earle put up monster numbers in helping the Owls to a 3-1 conference record over Bethany University. He was 10-for-22, with four home runs and a double, eight runs and nine RBIs.

For the season, he's hitting .304, including eight homers and 37 RBIs. Earle also tied a single season Oregon Tech record with his 16th double over the weekend.

Emerson, starting the nightcap on Friday against Bethany, threw a complete game shutout to defeat the Bruins 13-0. He scattered five hits, struck out five and walked only one in nine innings. Emerson is 5-3 with a team-low 2.94 ERA.
