"Model Rules," a tale of unrealized romance directed by Ray Robison and starring Marlyn Mason, both of Medford, has won the Northwest Emerging Short Film Competition at the Salem Film Festival. Robison and Mason have been invited to the festival to accept the award.

"Model Rules" was written by Mason and shot entirely in Medford, where it was produced and directed by Robison with Mason co-producing (visit freewebs.com/modelrules).

In the film, Mason plays Gabby, an aging model who fantasizes about one of the men who is drawing her as she poses.

The film was shot at the Rogue Gallery and Mason's home for less than $1,000. It won the best screenplay award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, and Mason won the best actress award at the fifth annual Bend Film Festival for her role.
