Work begins today on replacement of the deck of a bridge that carries Interstate 5 over Old Siskiyou Highway, at mile 4.6 of the freeway, the Oregon Department of Transportation reported.

The $1.1 million bridge project will replace the road surface over the bridge, as well as the median and shoulder barrier.

Drivers should watch for work on the shoulder of the interstate this week. Southbound lanes will be narrowed to single lane beginning May 4.
