Ruth Amelia Rose

Wainwright

July 12, 1915 - April 23, 2009

Ruth, the oldest child of eight, was born to Henry and Margaret (Skiff) Bertram in Norfolk, Neb. As a child, the family moved often, finally settling in Colome, S.D., where she graduated the 8th grade. Working on the farm she survived the dust bowl era, and eventually moved to Oregon in 1936 where she met and married Bernard Muller and had two children. In 1950 they were divorced and Ruth moved to Grants Pass, Ore., where she eventually met and married Frank Wainwright in 1963. Ruth was baptized as a LDS in 1949. She was deeply devoted and active in all aspects of the church, with her greatest highlight being an organist at the Portland, Oregon temple. Surviving Ruth is her son, Lee and his two sons; and one great-granddaughter. Preceeding Ruth in death are two sisters; three brothers; her son, Dale; and husband, Frank. A visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1615 SE 28th Street, Albany. Burial will be at 1:00 Thursday, at Memory Gardens and Memorial Park in Medford. One of Ruth's unfulfilled desires was a college degree. In that memory the family is asking in lieu of flowers to make donations to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation which provides scholarships to the children of Special Forces soldiers killed in combat.
