Mildred (Mimi)

Dingman Wilson

Nov. 5, 1910 - May 19, 2009

Mimi Dingman Wilson was born in Paris, Texas on Nov. 5, 1910. She was seen as a woman of many faces. She was first of all Uncle Harry's loving wife, a scholar, an artist and free spirit. She was our own personal "Auntie Mame." She had so many facets making her a true gem. She always told it like she saw it. She was admired and loved by many. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harry Wilson; her sister, Mae Spence; and her brother, Eddie Hightower. Bob Zeemin, Mae Spence's son, also preceded her in death. Mimi and Harry had no children of their own, however, she is survived by her niece, Darlene Barrick and her husband, Dr. James Barrick; her great-nephews, Bob Zeemin and his wife, Debbie and Gary and his wife, Pam; her great-niece, Shauna Roach and her husband, Mike; as well as great-nieces in Texas, Marsa Hightower and Sheila and her husband, Don Dolezal. There are also many great-great-nieces, nephews and cousins.

She lived at Horton Plaza Retirement Community and developed many friendships over the years. She loved playing Bingo and going to the Senior Center. Our thanks also go to all of her family, friends and care givers who spent so much time with her.

A memorial service will be held at Horton Plaza at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Access in Mimi Wilson's name. Memory Gardens Mortuary and Memorial Park in care of arrangements. www.memorygardensmortuary.com
