A traffic stop in Josephine County Wednesday evening uncovered what authorities called “a large quantity” of psylocibin mushrooms and led to the arrest of three people on drug charges.

A Josephine County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation just west of Grants Pass at 7:45 p.m. During the stop, psychoactive mushrooms were found, officials said. Details on the amount weren’t available while the investigation continues, officials said.

All three people in the vehicle — Arianna Stewart, 19; James A. Linder, 25; and Jason D. “Pixie” Chapman, 35 — were arrested on charges of possession, distribution and manufacture of psylocibin mushrooms. They were lodged in the Josephine County Jail.
