More than 40 community organizations will take part next week in Project Homeless Connect, billed as Jackson County's first day-long event for homeless people and families.

The event designed to provide housing referrals, support services and hospitality for homeless people is set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway.

Hot lunch, access to services and helpful items will be available.

Volunteers and community organizations will join the Jackson County Community Services Consortium and Homeless Task Force for the event.
