When lead guitarist and songwriter Chuck Hughes was unable to find home-based musicians to tour with with his Hellcats, he started recruiting band members via MySpace. Many auditioned with YouTube videos. With New Jersey drummer Russ Montelbano and Florida bassist Cory Karish on board, Hughes' Hellcats toured the U.S. and 11 European countries in 2008.

The Hellcats will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Cattlemen's Saloon, 108 Depot St., Rogue River. The band retains the spirit of rockabilly and psychobilly music, while the songs include topics such as those of the Reverend Horton Heat.

Two Hellcats' CDs were recorded with Taz Bentley, drummer for Heat. "Hollywood Heaven," a new EP by the Hellcats, is available through Tunecore.

There is no cover at the saloon. Call 582-1631.
