The William H. Moore Center, which provides sobering and transition services through Addictions Recovery Center, will hold an open house and barbecue lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 26 at the center, 338 N. Front St., Medford.

The William H. Moore Center, which provides sobering and transition services through Addictions Recovery Center, will hold an open house and barbecue lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 26 at the center, 338 N. Front St., Medford.

Lunch will be prepared by Butch Frost, winner of the 2008 "Battle of the Bones." Speakers will be Medford Deputy Police Chief Tim George, Moore Center Manager Pat Murphey, and Dustin Butcher, a resident who has successfully gone through the program.

Those who complete a tour of the center will be entered in a drawing for a dinner for two.

Those who enter the sobering unit are kept under close observation and are given food and a place to sleep until they are sober. Transition services, including a safe and sober place to live, are provided for those ready to overcome their addiction to drugs and alcohol.
