"Jittery Joe"



Delmer Albert Shaw, "Jittery Joe", passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at RVMC on June 19, 2009. Del was born to Byron and Leona Shaw on August 11,1930, in Eager, Ariz. He attended school in Winslow before joining the U. S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Arizona where he worked in his family's mattress company.

Del moved to Ore. in 1966. He was an accomplished concrete finisher and taught both his sons the trade. In 1983, he married Theda Lamont and started "Jittery Joe's" Buy Sell Trade Store in Talent, Ore., where he worked side by side with Theda until retiring in 1996. They built their dream house made of many natural woods and created the beautiful surrounding yard. A favorite pastime was sitting by his koi pond with family and friends.

Del is survived by his wife, Theda; daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Vickie Grantland; son, Randy Shaw; step-son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lori Lamont; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Betty Shaw, and brother Gerald Shaw. "Papa" was the beloved grandfather of eight grandchildren; Amy, Jim, Nichole, Krissie, David, Stephanie, Tony and Steven. He also had eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Delmer John "Brother" Shaw, his parents and brother, Bobby.

The family will have a celebration of Del's life at Emigrant Lake, Section A, on Saturday, June, 27th, at 1:00 p.m., preceding a private family dinner.
