Bridge construction will close the northbound ramps connecting Interstate 5's exit 55 and U.S. 199 for three days next week, the Oregon Department of Transportation said.

The ramps linking the northbound lanes of the freeway and U.S. 199, known as the Grants Pass Parkway there, are set to close Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contractors will remove temporary bridge construction supports over the roadway, ODOT officials said.

Although crews hope to finish the work within that period, ODOT said overnight work might be necessary. It would start after 7 p.m. and could continue until 5 a.m.

Officials recommend that drivers avoid exit 55 and use exit 58 instead. Message boards and other signs will notify drivers of the construction and detour routes. All I-5 traffic lanes will remain open

Southbound freeway ramp access will be unaffected.
