A group advocating for health care reform plans a rally this afternoon on Vogel Plaza in Medford.

The "Mothers' Voices for Health Care Reform" rally is at 5 p.m. at the corner of Main and Central streets downtown.

Health care costs overall hit women the hardest, said Laure Collins with Service Employees' International Union Local 503, in a media release about the event.

One purpose of the rally is to advocate for a public insurance option for those who cannot afford or cannot qualify for private insurance, she said.
