The Sargent family has set an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. to celebrate its 20th anniversaryof owning and operating the historic resort.

&byline2;The resort is at 2200 Buckhorn Springs Road, off Highway 66 east of Ashland.

A concealed fault in the ground at the site creates the carbon dioxide gas springs that were first used by American Indians across the region, said Bruce Sargent.

The resort became private in 1996 and caters to groups on retreats like the Ashland Buddhists, yoga groups and massage therapy schools.
