Bhangra beats meet Celtic dub when Canada's Delhi 2 Dublin comes to town.

The band will be passing through Ashland once again for a night of tribal dance starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Stillwater, 1951 Highway 66, Ashland.

Blending elements of East and West with electronic and acoustic, Delhi 2 Dublin takes listeners on a borderless trip through global sounds and synchronicities.

The band fuses the traditional instruments of tabla, dhol drums, fiddle and sitar with DJ aesthetics to create a highly charged multicultural dance sound.

Originally formed for a one-shot performance during Vancouver's Celtic Fest in March 2006, the project soon took a life of its own as word of Delhi 2 Dublin's high-energy performance started to spread.

Recently, the band was invited to open the Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, where they collaborated with Irish and Indian dancers and the National Circus School.

The band is Tarun Nayar, Kytami, Andrew Kim, Sanjay Seran and Ravi Binning playing various traditional and modern instruments.

Also performing will be DJs Rara Avis, a music producer now residing in Ashland, and Craig Kholand, founder of Shaman's Dream.
