Pearl Naoma Nelson



Pearl Naoma Nelson, 77, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Medford, Ore. She was born Pearl Naoma Scoville on July 27, 1931 in Lakeview, Ore., to Ralph and Ruth Scoville. From the time she was two yeas old through graduating Medford High School in 1949 she was raised by her grandparents, Sarah Naoma and John Raymond Scoville.

She is survived by her husband, John Wesley Nelson, whom she married on Aug. 6, 1949; half brothers, Gary Scoville, Medford and Donald Scoville; four children, Terry Bonney, Tiller, Ore., Ed Nelson, Wichita, Kans., John Nelson, Central Point, Ore. and Linda Taylor, Eagle Point, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pearl loved her family, all of her friends, animals and baking. She also enjoyed looking for rocks of all kinds, old bottles and antiques to sell in their shop (Nelson's Rock and Bottle Shop) on Hwy 62 between White City and Medford.

Perl Funeral home is in care of the arrangements. A private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Eagle Point VA National Cemetery.
