Eleazar DeLuca of Talent put on quite a wrestling performance at the Western Regionals in Pocatello, Idaho, this past week.

The 15-year-old Phoenix High sophomore-to-be posted a 24-0 record in winning the triple crown in the 140-pound Cadet Division for 15-16-year olds.

DeLuca ended most of his matches with technical falls in capturing championships in the Greco Roman, freestyle and collegiate styles. He was given one of the outstanding wrestler awards at the competition.

"I was just keeping after people," said DeLuca. "I was not settling for decisions."

DeLuca, who finished second this past year at the Class 4A state tournament, has been wrestling for seven years.

He advance to the high school national tournament July 17 in Fargo, N.D.
