Children can learn bike safety and decorate their bikes for the Fourth of July parade during a Central Point Bike Safety Fair, set for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Central Point Elementary School, 450 S. Fourth St.

Children will learn about rules of the road, proper helmet fit, flat tire repair, bike equipment and safety checks. On-the-bike lessons will include "Bike Handling Skills," "Hazard Avoidance," "Right of Way," "Lane Positioning" and "Intersection Practice."

Children also will have the opportunity to decorate their bicycles for the upcoming Central Point Fourth of July Parade.

Participants should bring an operational bicycle, their helmet and a parent. Free helmets will be supplied to children who don't have one while supplies last.
