Jon Flinn pitched the Southern Oregon RiverDawgs to a 7-1 victory in the opener of a West Coast League Tri-State division doubleheader Tuesday.

The Humboldt Crabs, however, rallied for a 6-5 win to salvage a split at Harry & David Field.

Flinn evened his record at 3-3 with the 85-pitch complete game.

Austin Coleman went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to pace the RiverDawgs' attack. Jared Adamson and Mitch Garcia each contributed two hits.

Southern Oregon (19-17, 10-10 WCL Tri-State) jumped out to a 4-0 first-inning lead. Coleman followed singles by Dustin Smith and Adamson with a two-run double to open the scoring. On Allen Smith's grounder back to the mound, Coleman got caught in a rundown between third and home but ducked under a tag and scored. Allen Smith went all the way to third on the play and scored on a ground out to second by Tyler Davis.

The Dawgs scored three more in the third on Coleman's RBI double and Allen Smith's two-run single.

In Game 2, Travis Wolf's grand slam in the fourth inning gave Southern Oregon a 5-2 lead.

The Crabs came back to tie the game with three runs in the fifth.

Humboldt scored the winning run in the seventh when Jeff Giacomini delivered an RBI single.

Coleman added two hits and one RBI in the nightcap.
