Grab a sandwich and have lunch with former Oregon Shakespeare Festival artistic director Libbey Appel at noon today.

Appel speaks from noon to 1 p.m. at Carpenter Hall, 15 S. Pioneer St., Ashland, about “Paradise Lost,” the play she’s directing this year at the festival. Tickets for the talk, one in a noontime series conducted by the festival, are $8 ($7 for members) and $6 for kids 6 and older.

“Paradise Lost” is a Depression-era story about a family’s financial hardship. OSF describes it as “an ode to holding fast to idealism and morality in a climate of fear.”
