Frank Parsons

Frank Parsons, 91, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009. He was born Nov. 30, 1917 in Kennett, Calif. In the 1930's he learned to fly planes and did several aerial films in a 40 hp cub built of wood and cloth. His World War II experience was in the B-26 Martin Marauder also known as the "Widow Maker." He flew 55 missions in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. Because of his love of flying, Frank made the Air Force his career for the next 25 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. After retirement Frank worked for Lockheed as a logistician for several years before moving to Ashland, Ore., in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine Parsons; son, Mel Parsons, of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Sandra Denson, of Medford, Ore.; son, Scott Parsons, of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. A private service is planned.
