Police now say disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges are likely against a Medford man involved in a standoff this evening.

Medford Police Lt. Brett Johnson said at the scene of the standoff that Thomas Flores, 33, of the 2200 block of College Way gave up to police without resistance. Later, in a press release, Johnson said after Flores agreed to come outside, he refused to comply with directions and was subdued with a Taser weapon. Charges are pending against Flores, he said.

Flores was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Police said the information they received said Flores had threatened “to engage officers with (his) firearm,” Johnson said.

Police did not find a gun at the residence but did find a holster and ammunition.
