Home gardeners can learn during a talk Thursday how to donate their extra vegetables to people who need food.

Philip Yates, nutrition programs director for the social-service agency ACCESS Inc., will speak at 10 a.m. at the Grange Co-op, 225 S. Front St., Central Point.

Yates' talk is one in a series offered at the store this summer as part of the KOBI-Grange Co-op Food Share Garden program, which encourages home gardeners to plant crops to share with the needy. A list of talks in the series is available at www.grangecoop.com.

The ACCESS Food Share Pantry Network provides food for more than 3,200 families each month, organizers say.
