Scott Jacob, son of Norman and Jacque Jacob of Eagle Point, received the Rev. Paul J. Foik, C.S.C., Award on May 16 at the University of Notre Dame for exemplary contributions by a librarian.

Jacob is the head of library collection development at the University of Notre Dame. For more than 13 years, he has worked to develop a teaching and research collection and helped make Notre Dame a premier place to conduct academic research.

He has been at the forefront of the electronic technologies and has developed world-class collections that facilitate teaching and research in his subject areas. He has also held key roles in national organizations such as the Association of Research Libraries and the Center for Research Libraries.

Jacob graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1975. He received degrees from Western Oregon College and the University of Oregon, followed by a master's degree in library science from the University of Illinois.
