Yes, it's true, Wednesday brought another day of record-breaking heat.

By late afternoon, the official National Weather Service thermometer at the Medford airport had climbed to 109 degrees, topping the record for this date, 108 degrees, set in 2003.

Forecasters are predicting another day of triple-digit heat for Thursday, with a high of around 103, nowhere near the record high of 107 for July 30, also set in 2003.

Temperatures may finally drop below 100 on Friday, but only barely. Forecasters were predicting a high of 98, with a slight chance of thunderstorms.
