Dorothy L. King



Dorothy L. King, 69, of Gold Hill, Ore., lost her short battle with cancer on July 25, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 31, 1939, in Kelso, Wash., to Harry C. Hess and Doris W. Ninnis Hess. She graduated from San Fernando High in San Fernando, Calif. Dorothy moved to Oregon in 1973. She worked as a pear packer at Del Rio and Harry & David, was a CNA at Hearthstone, lunch aide at Patrick Elementary, was co-owner of Appliance Hospital and for many years was an in-home caregiver. She was active in the LDS church, enjoyed sewing, crafts, genealogy, fishing and camping, but mostly spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Hess; and her sister, Irene Moran. She is survived by Carl King, Sr.; her children, Julie Inlow, Linda Bradshaw, Carl King, Jr. and Michael King; brother, Charles Hess; sister, Shara Allen; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Celebration of Life for friends and family is planned for August 8th at 11:30 a.m. at Valley of the Rogue State Park.
