One boat ramp at Howard Prairie could close as early as next week because of falling water levels at the reservoir.

The Willow Point boat ramp at Willow Point Campground at the south end of the lake will close when parks staff determines the lake's level is too low for boaters to launch safely, said Steve Lambert, county parks program manager, in a news release this morning.

He also said the parks department has a grant to extend the ramp, work that is due to be completed when water levels fall even lower.

Boaters still will be able to launch from ramps at Howard Prairie Resort, Grizzly Creek and Klum Landing.
