Her free solo concert is to feature selections by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Claude Debussy and Frédéric Chopin. These are Jameson's favorite composers and they often show up in her programs. She also likes Beethoven and Brahms.

For her birthday concert, Jameson will play Sonata in B-flat Major, K. 333 by Mozart; Four Impromptus, Op. 90 by Schubert; "Reflets dans l'eau, Arabesque No. 1," along with "Jardins sous la Pluie" by Debussy and "Berceuse" and Scherzo, Op. 31 by Chopin.

Jameson will perform at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Veranda Park Retirement Living, 1641 Veranda Park Drive, Medford.

Jameson keeps talking about retiring from her musical activity, but last year she performed at a number of retirement homes. She also headed back to the East Coast to perform piano pieces at the invitation of colleges and other institutions, something she's done for 27 years.

For 19 consecutive years she presented the September Music Festival in Medford with invited musical guests.

Jameson made her first public appearance as a pianist at the age of 5, having just begun her study of piano. At 13, she performed the Grieg A minor concerto with orchestra.

She has performed at concert venues throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, Mexico and Chile. She has often appeared on television and radio, performing with various symphony orchestras, and making several recordings.

Jameson studied in England with Denise Lassimonne of the London Matthay Pianoforte School. In Europe she studied with the Italian pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli and F. Motte-Lacroiz of the Paris Conservatory.

She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music and composition — with honors — from the University of California, Los Angeles. She was a member of the faculty at Yuba College in Northern California, and several academic and musical fraternal organizations.

For many years she served on the board of Chamber Music Concerts of Southern Oregon University. Call 494-5238.
