An Ashland author whose historical novel follows the journey of a Torah through many families of different religions speaks Monday at Ashland's library.

Herman Edel, author of "The Pavlac Legacy," will speak from 7-8 p.m. at the Ashland Branch Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.

Edel worked in music production around the world and served two terms as mayor of Aspen, Colo., before moving to Ashland.
