The Heart and Hope Musical Ministries of Ashland has received a grant of $5,000 from the Safeway Foundation. The foundation focuses in part on nonprofits whose work includes hunger relief and special needs.

Foundation spokesman Dan Floyd said in a letter the grant committee was impressed with Heart and Hope's dedication "to provide clients with a well thought out program of interactive music, specifically designed to uplift and inspire."

Heart and Hope is run by Donny and Cate Roze of Ashland, and assists seniors and others in need through music and musical programs. For more visit www.ofheartand hope.org.
