GOLD HILL — Verizon Wireless said it has expanded its 3G network to the Gold Hill area, extending coverage along the Rogue River between Grants Pass and Medford.

The cell phone service provider offers customers access to the Web, e-mail, text and picture messaging, music and video.

Verizon Wireless said it spent $107 million to enhance services and coverage in Oregon during 2008 and has invested more than $50 billion since it was formed in 2000.
