Patrick Wayne McCoy



Patrick Wayne McCoy was born October 8, 1963, in Grants Pass, Oregon and succumbed to liver cancer at the age of 45 on August 26, 2009. He attended elementary and Jr. high schools in Central Point, Oregon, then graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1982. He enjoyed playing football for the Grants Pass High School Cavemen.



Patrick trained and worked in the travel business in Florida in his younger years. He worked in the woods planting trees, but the highlight was working in Glendale, Oregon with his friend Mark Kent, getting Yew bark for the medicine Taxol. He had many other jobs in his lifetime, including being a handyman with his friend Steve Plumley and painting houses.



Patrick enjoyed his time with his daughters, loved sports such as fishing, and viewing Mariners baseball games.



He spent the latter years of his life in Tacoma, Washington where he had many loving friends and family members. He triumphed over many of life's pitfalls before his death.



Patrick is survived by his father, Donald McCoy and stepmother Joanne McCoy; daughters, Jessica McCoy, Creedance McCoy and Abbigail McCoy; and granddaughter Ava Daniels and his brother Sean McCoy. Other surviving family members include a close cousin, Lori McCoy, as well as many other cousins, nieces and his Aunt Sally Wright. His mother, Darlene McCoy preceded him in death in 1985.

Viewing times will be at House of Scott Funeral Home, 1215 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma, Wash. 98405 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on August 29, 2009. There will be a graveside service the following morning at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Stellacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, Washl 98499-4012.



In lieu of flowers, donations to Multi-Care, Good Samaritan Home Health and Hospice, 3901 Fife Street, Tacoma, Washington 98409, is requested by the family.
