The Rogue Snowmobilers have challenged other outdoor clubs to participate in a blood drive, and the Southern Oregon Nordic Club and the Motorcycle Riders Association have joined in the challenge.

The goal is to assist the American Red Cross to meet hospitals' blood needs in a slow giving month.

The blood drive challenge will run through September. To make an appointment to give blood, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visit www.givelife.org . Morning, afternoon and evening appointments are available throughout Jackson and Josephine counties.

Participants who want to assist the clubs in their challenge should vote for their preferred club at the time they give blood.
