Donald "Jason" Myrick



Donald "Jason" Myrick, 38, of Grants Pass, Ore., passed away Friday, Sept. 19, at the UCSF Medical Center due to complications from a heart transplant. Jason was born in Medford, Ore. on April 26, 1971 to Donald Myrick, Jr. and Anne Myrick of Grants Pass, Ore. He was a 1989 Graduate of Grants Pass High School, and attended Umpqua and Rogue Community College. Jason married the love of his life, Rachel Hunt, in November 1997. They have two beautiful daughters, Tiffany, age 11, and Ashley, age 5. Jason was recently appointed as the Postmaster of Gold Hill, Ore. Prior to Gold Hill, he served in Gold Beach, Brookings, Medford, Grants Pass and Lakeview. Jason was an avid waterskier and fisherman. He was also involved with the Grants Pass Active Club. Jason is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughters, Tiffany and Ashley; parents, Don and Anne; sister, Alicia and her husband, Erik; grandparents, Donald F. and Dolores Myrick; Rachel's parents, George and Rebecca Hunt; and many other family members. There will be a memorial service by Pastor John Tucker of First United Methodist Church, Medford, for all family and friends on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Josephine County Fairgrounds Pavilion.
