Arts advocates get together in Central Point all day today to talk about strategies for bringing art to all Southern Oregon communities in a tough financial climate.

The event, dubbed "Weaving our Future," is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Twin Creeks Retirement Facility, 888 Twin Creeks Crossing, central Point. Cost of the workshop, which is open to the community, is $20, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch.

Sharon Morgan, former executive director of Oregon Coast Council for the Arts and Oregon Alliance for Arts Education, will facilitate the event, which will include panel discussions with representatives of the Oregon Arts Commission and representatives of Southern Oregon arts organizations.
