PROSPECT — In a battle of Mountain Valley League unbeatens, defending champion Prospect was the team that exited the volleyball court unscathed after Tuesday night's matchup with Butte Falls.

Prospect (7-0, 5-0 MVL) used a near-flawless service game and 14 total blocks to deny the visiting Loggers, 25-15, 25-22, 25-18.

The win was Prospect's 36th straight in conference play, dating back to Sept. 26, 2006. The Cougars won their final seven matches that season — finishing 11-1 overall to earn the MVL crown — and posted 12-0 campaigns in 2007 and '08.

The Cougars served at a 97-percent clip, getting perfect efforts from Kayla Pulley (15-for-15), Heather Lass (14-for-14) and Keirstyn Anderson (13-for-13) in the key league affair.

"Our goal is to get in the 90s every single game and we will volley with anyone," said Prospect coach Marci Gallagher.

Prospect only had four aces from the line, but received 13 kills and two blocks from Anderson, 11 kills and four blocks from Lass and 10 kills from Pulley.

Kristalyn Mahoney added 18 assists and Kristen Reynolds had 13 assists for Prospect, which trailed by about eight points in Game 2 before rallying for the win.

Butte Falls dropped to 4-1 in league play and 4-2 overall. Loggers coach Skyler Harrington commended Aarika Stephens for her solid passing game.
