A motorcyclist died on Agate Road Wednesday morning after veering off the road and hitting a fence.

Jake Kenneth Tiffee, 32, no address listed, was riding with his brother when the accident occurred shortly before 11:20 a.m., according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. said. He was riding a 2004 Yamaha YFR that belonged to a friend.

As the two brothers, each on a separate motorcycle, came to an S-curve in Agate Road just before the intersection with Old Linn Road, Tiffee went off the road into a ditch for an unknown reason, Jackson County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Rick Kennedy said.

Tiffee, who wore a helmet, was thrown from the bike and hit a fence. He was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

A multi-agency crash reconstruction team was called to investigate the death. Toxicology tests will be done, Kennedy said. The investigation is ongoing.
