ROGUE RIVER — Savannah Poston's late goal broke a scoreless tie as Rogue River came away with a 1-0 victory over Phoenix in District 6 girls soccer Saturday at Chieftain Stadium.

Poston, a freshman midfielder, ran onto Allison Coulter's crossing pass inside the 18-yard box and deposited a shot into the net for the game-winner in the 78th minute.

Forwards Kendra Milligan and Hannah Droughton each had some good scoring chances for the Chieftains.

"We had some opportunities but couldn't find the net until the end," said Coulter. "They're a physical team. They pushed us off the ball a couple of times."
