Nearly 2,300 Pacific Power customers in Medford lost power at 7:21 this morning when a sparrow got into a protective device above a transformer on a distribution circuit near Shilo Inn.

Pacific Power spokesman Monte Mendenhall said all but 135 customers had service restored with 15 minutes. But customers around Shilo Inn on Biddle Road will be without electricity until 10:30 a.m.

Twice early this summer, starlings caused power outages in Medford.
