KLAMATH FALLS — North Medford's girls cross country team won the Henley Hornet Invitational on Tuesday and the Black Tornado boys placed second in the 5,000-meters event.

KLAMATH FALLS — North Medford's girls cross country team won the Henley Hornet Invitational on Tuesday and the Black Tornado boys placed second in the 5,000-meters event.
Freshman Julia Ribeiro finished second overall in a time of 21 minutes, 31 seconds for North, edging out sophomore teammate Breanna Pyper, who had the same official time. North freshman Kelli Ireland was fourth in 21:52.
Lakeview senior Ashley Baldovino won the girls race in 20:26.
Lauren Hornbeck finished 12th in 24:03 to pace Crater which, like North Medford, used the event to give its underclassmen some varsity experience.
On the boys side, Nick Sharpe placed sixth for the Tornado in a time of 17:48, while fellow senior Ben Paul was 13th (18:35).
Crater's Aaron Adams placed eighth (17:54) and teammate Greyson Dixon was 10th (18:14). Henley's Jed Tolbert won in 16:28.
