National Weather Service forecasters in Medford are predicting rain before 10 tonight and snow, possibly mixed with rain, after that to about 1,500 feet. Medford is at 1,400 feet, and Ashland is at about 2,000. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Showers also are in the forecast Tuesday morning before rain clears away through Christmas Day on Friday. Overnight lows are expected to be below freezing, however, and fog is likely, forecasters say.
