Observances from labyrinth walks to candlelight services to concerts are planned tonight for Christmas Eve.

Portland pianist John Nilsen will be in Ashland for a service at Grace Lutheran Church, and Ashland band Gypsy Soul and new-age author Neale Donald Walsch will be at a service at the Ashland Springs Hotel.

Here's a schedule:

€ 4 to 7 p.m.: The Center for Spiritual Living, 1119 Ellen Ave., Medford, opens its labyrinth for people to walk. The ancient practice "clears the mind, gives insight and calms people in the midst of life's transitions," say organizers. Details: 541-734-8581.

€ 5 p.m.: St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 305 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, plans its annual service. Details: 541-899-1956.

€ 5 p.m., 7 p.m., 11 p.m.: Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Drive, plans an early informal service and traditional candlelight services at 7 and 11 p.m. Details: 541-773-8274.

€ 6 p.m., 10 p.m.: First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford, plans a child-oriented service at 6 p.m. and a traditional Christmas Eve service at 10 p.m.

€ 7 p.m.: Bread of Life Community Church, 1017 N. Riverside Ave., Medford, plans advent wreath lighting, child and adult Christmas programs and birthday cake for Jesus. Details: 541-245-9950.

€ 7 p.m.: Ashland Springs Hotel, 212 E. Main St., Ashland, hosts a Christmas candlelight service with Gypsy Soul and Neale Donald Walsch. The service includes traditional carols and a candle-lighting ceremony with music for the season.

€ 7 p.m.: Grace Lutheran Church, 660 Frances Lane, Ashland, plans its Christmas Eve service with Portland pianist John Nilsen, who also will perform at a Christmas Day service.
