Aaron Anderson

Aaron Anderson, 40, of Medford, Ore., passed away Dec. 22, 2009. He was born on Dec. 29, 1968, in Hoquiam, Wash. to Jerry and Sara Anderson. Aaron grew up in the Rogue Valley and graduated from Crater High School. His senior year at Crater, he was voted athlete of the year. He received All- Conference recognition in football, basketball and baseball. He was All-State baseball in both his junior and senior years and upon graduation, he attended Oregon State University on a baseball scholarship. While there, he was a four- year starter and received All-Conference recognition. Aaron was number 2 on the career "hits" list for Oregon State baseball at the time of his graduation. Following graduation, he became a teacher and coach at North Middle School in Grants Pass, Ore. and later went into administration. He was principal at South Medford High School and eventually principal at Grants Pass High School. He enjoyed watching sports, playing golf and going on family vacations to the Oregon Coast and Sun River. He designed and built about a dozen homes in the Grants Pass area. Aaron was a people person who dearly loved his family and the many wonderful friends who were invaluable to him in his two-year battle with cancer. He is survived by Susie Anderson; his three children, Taylor (8), Trent (5) and Brooke (3), of Grants Pass, Ore.; his parents Jerry and Sara Anderson, of Medford, Ore.; brother, Bryan Anderson, of Maplewood, New Jersey; Bryan's wife, Leesa; two neices, India and Beatrice; and several dearly loved aunts, uncles, cousins and one grandmother. A memorial service to celebrate Aaron's life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, 1:00 p.m., at the 1st Baptist Church, 649 Crater Lake Avenue, Medford, Ore.
