MT. VIEW 73, ASHLAND 64, OT — At Bend, sophomore shooting guard Billy Hansen scored 28 points and senior point guard Adam Pavlich had 21 as Ashland nearly upset the state's No. 2-ranked 5A team in the Central Oregon Les Schwab Tournament at Summit High.

The Grizzlies (5-5) are without three of their top seven players, including starter Ian Kendall, because of injury or vacation. Two players — Reed Chasmar and Nino Foley — fouled out early in overtime.

Ashland had a shot to break a 55-55 tie at the buzzer in regulation, but it was blocked.

Hansen scored 24 of his points in the first half, including five 3-pointers. Jordan Resch added 13 for the Grizzlies, who play Sandy at 10 a.m. today.

CASCADE CHRISTIAN 73, SANTIAM CHRISTIAN 65 — At Salem, Colton Cochran's near triple-double and Wes Litton's 20-point effort powered second-ranked Cascade Christian past fifth-ranked Santiam Christian in the first round of the Salem Academy Tournament.

Cochran registered 23 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists for the Challengers (7-1), who will face Salem Academy today at 8 p.m.

Litton also had six rebounds and Ben Joffer added 10 points and seven boards.

The Eagles' Kyle Alexander scored 22 points.
