Medford police are investigating a burglary reported at a downtown Medford pawn shop early this morning.

An alarm summoned the owner of Medford Pawn to his store at 525 S. Central Ave., and he called police at 1:42 a.m. after he confirmed a break-in, Medford police Lt. Bob Hansen said.

Responding officers searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspects, police said.

The initial report indicated about 150 rings had been taken from a jewelry case at the pawn shop, Hansen said. Other items in the shop were moved around and employees are conducting a complete inventory to determine exactly what is missing.

Detective are working on the case now and more details about the break-in might be available later today, Hansen said.
