Naumes Properties has donated 1.5 acres between Pine Street and the Jackson County Expo in Central Point for future Bear Creek Greenway expansion, county officials announced this morning.
The property encompasses two tax lots appraised at $160,000, Jenna Stanke, county Greenway coordinator, said in a press release.
A 1.5-mile expansion of the Greenway from Pine Street through the Expo area to Upton Road is in the planning stage and is likely several years out, Stanke said. But Naumes’ donation will allow the county to apply for grant funds that were unavailable before the property was secured.
Naumes Properties is jointly owned by the families of Mike and Laura Naumes and John and Marilyn Duke.
