Vernon Wayne Hanson


Vern Wayne Hanson passed away at his home in Medford, Ore., on March 15, 2010, after a lengthy battle with COPD. He was born in Weed, Calif. on February 23, 1943, to Russell and Marjorie Hanson. He spent most of his life in the Rogue Valley, graduating from Medford High School in 1961. In his early working years he was employed as a grocery produce manager/buyer and in later years he worked as a salesman for Gleaves Volkswagen and Skinner Buick Cadillac.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents. Vern is survived by his four children, Debra Wilson, Missouri City, Texas, Kenneth Hanson, Katy, Texas, Mikki Ann Hanson, Rogue River, and Cody Hanson, Medford; five grandchildren; sister, Patricia Smith, Medford, and her five children.

A decision was made by Vern, prior to his death, to donate his remains to science. These arrangements were made by Medcure, Portland, Ore. The family invites friends to join them on Saturday, April 10, at 2:00 p.m., at his sister's home, 2121 E. Jackson, to celebrate his life. Donations may be made in his memory to O.H.S.U., 3181 S.W.
