The land-use advocacy groups 1000 Friends of Oregon, Friends of Jackson County and Rogue Advocates host a discussion in Medford tonight about the county's regional problem solving effort.

The forum is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Medford Branch Library, 205 S. Central Ave. It's open to the public.

The groups will discuss their concerns about regional problem solving, an effort by cities across the region to come up with a plan to guide the area's development in the future.

The groups have "some serious concerns" about the plan in its current form, they said in a news release, including the amount of land it would add to urban areas, how it would handle farm land and how transportation and affordable housing options are addressed.
