Kathleen Martin, a Hedrick Middle School student, won the regional finals for girls ages 13-14 at the iHoops Skill Challenge in Portland March 14.
The event timed and tested basketball skills including dribbling, shooting and passing.
Martin will compete at nationals in May in Orlando, Fla.
Martin, who was one of three qualifiers from local competition. She was honored during halftime of the Portland Trail Blazers-Toronto Raptors game at the Rose Garden.
Ron Seymour rolled games of 300, 257 and 269 for an 826 series in the Roxy Ann Men's Industrial League at Roxy Ann Lanes.
Chris Landing bowled a 300 game during an 805 series at Lava Lanes on March 15.

Mike Milligan recorded a hole-in-one on the 15th hole at Eagle Point Sunday. The ace came from 125 yards out with a 9-iron.
Mike Miller posted his first hole-in-one at Centennial Thursday. His 4-iron shot was true from 176 yards on the 14th hole. Witnesses were Willy Reed, Rich Larsen and Duane Nelson.
Larry Van Ausdall made his first hole-in-one in more than 50 years of play at Stewart Meadows Thursday. He aced the 147-yard seventh hole with a 7-wood. Witnesses were Bob Bierer, Steve Shade and Rick Prusz.
Lauren Hill, representing Southern Oregon Gymnastics Academy, was the Level 8 state bar champion at the Oregon State Optional Championships Saturday and Sunday.
Hill had a score of 9.425 on bars. She was also runner-up on the vault, beam and floor events and was second all-around. She and five teammates qualified for regionals next month in Auburn, Wash.
